Nearly got ripped off at Woolworths today when purchasing 4 bags of chips for $6.00. My daughter scanned the same bag twice and the weight machine didn't register the double weight. I then almost didn't print the docket, due to a slip up on the yes/no question.

Fortunately, I requested it and when I checked it, found the double scan and had almost paid $2.98 too much.

My lesson is always print or request a receipt and check the prices are correct.

It appears that Coles is moving into line with Woolworths and moving their catalogue specials to a Wednesday starting on the 24th August. So now Coles and Woolworths specials begin on Wednesday and IGA and Foodworks are still starting on Monday. All catalogues are weekly publications unless otherwise stated.

Suzanne it appears as though all sites have discontinued the Classic Talc. Maybe some $2 shops might have the last remaining stock as this is usually where products end up before they are discontinued. Worth a try.

Smart Shopper

It hasn't taken long for Woolworths to see the benefits of a fully functional smartphone app to help you with your everyday shopping, so we decided to take a closer look.

My Specials (login required) – This is the most revealing feature of this app. It shows you weekly specials based on products that you appear to have purchased previously. Therefore, qualifying an urban myth that the big chains link your credit card or rewards cards specifically to your spending habits. The only way to keep it personal is to use cash.
