The story "Supermarket scales rort" is an investigative piece on the accuracy of scales in our supermarkets. In the story of the 14 sites tested only one appeared to have failed the laboratory testing of fresh produce weights. To be fair they went back the next day to the same store and the scales were working correctly. According to the regulators the scales are have an error tolerance rate of 2.5g, which it a fairly low error rate and fortunately Australia has a high bench mark for consumer protection.
